The trick behind this is that you subscribe to the Blackberry Social Monthly Plan instead of the Airtel Lite Plan. Don't be confused because I know you'll be thinking, "But I do not use a Blackberry device. How is this possible?"

Don't bother because you don't have to own a BB. All you need is an internet enabled mobile phone, be it Java or Symbian, your Airtel SIM card and a recharge of N1200.

STEPS TO ACTIVATE THE AIRTEL SOCIAL BLACKBERRY PLAN.
Recharge your phone with the Airtel recharge card(s) worth N1200. It isn't compulsory you recharge the N1200 at once.You can even recharge 12 N100 cards to get N1200.

Send BSM as a text message to 440. You will receive a message telling you your Blackberry monthly plan has been successfully activated. You will receive another message asking you to Text 'STOP RENEWAL' to 440 if you don't want Airtel to auto renew your subscription on this package every month.

I ignore it because I want to continue on that same plan every month, It's cheap and affordable compared to the normal data bundle plan.

Switch off your phone and put it on after a minute.You should now be able to use it on either your mobile phone or PC.

Dial *141*712*0# to check your data bundle balance and expiry date.
